Robert Dukes

OverviewBorn in Hull, Yorkshire, Dukes studied at the Grimsby School of Art from 1981 to 1984 and at the Slade School of Fine Art from 1984 to 1988, under Lawrence Gowing, Patrick George, Jeffrey Camp and Euan Uglow. Dukes teaches at the Royal Drawing School and features regularly in the Royal Academy Summer Show. Dukes paints primarily in the still life tradition, using bold shades of oil upon board and making everyday objects his subject.
