Ivor Abrahams is a British sculptor and printmaker best known for his innovative explorations with gardens, cityscapes, mythologies, the human figure, and animals. Born in Lancashire in 1935, he studied art at Central St. Martin's under Anthony Caro and at Camberwell School of Art, focusing mainly on figurative sculpture. After extensive travel in Europe, he was a visiting lecturer at a number of renowned art schools, including Birmingham College of Art, Coventry College of Art, Goldsmith's College of Art, the Royal College of Art and the Slade School of Art. He was also a Professor of Sculpture at the Royal Academy Schools from 2007-2010. He has had a number of museum retrospectives, including at the Kolnisher Kunstverein in Cologne, at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and a prints retrospective at the Royal Academy in London.
