1954  Studied at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts under Karel Vogel

1957  Finished studies at Camberwell School and started apprenticeship at Fiorini Art                                      bronze foundry

1960  Became a visiting lecturer in sculpture at Birmingham School of Art and Coventry                              College of Art

1989  Elected Associate of the Royal Academy on 31 May

1991  Elected Royal Academician on 26 June as a sculptor

1992  Moved to the South of France

1999  Returned to London

2007  Became a professor of sculpture at the Royal Academy Schools

2010  Elected Senior Royal Academician on 1 October

2015  Died on 6 January
