Marc Vaux: New Ovals (London)

2nd May - 31st May 2014

Private View: 1st May 2014, 6-8pm

Bernard Jacobson Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition 'New Ovals'; a collection of new works by the renowed British artist, Marc Vaux.

The current exhibition focuses on a group of large, ovoid paintings – a coherent and visually exciting body of work, which marks the culmination of Vaux’s previous projects.

In Vaux’s new works the dimensions of the ovals are decided through computer-generated numbers. The ovals are also rotational; they can be spun and moved in order to compliment their light and surroundings. Unlike the man-made, polished finish of Vaux’s previous ‘Triptychs and Ovals’, exhibited at Bernard Jacobson Gallery in 2010, the recent works appear painterly and seem to evolve naturally with their surroundings.
